Every paid portal (Starter+) comes with a monthly credit allowance. You typically start thinking about buying more credits when:

Note: There is a difference between HubSpot Credits (what you pay HubSpot) and Customer Credits (what your customers might pay you).

If you're looking to build a "ClassPass" style model or a loyalty system where your customers buy credits, you build it with Content Hub + Custom Objects:

  1. Create a Custom Object: User_Credits or add a property to Contact for Current_Credit_Balance
  2. Commerce Hub: Use Payment Links to sell "Credit Packs"
  3. Workflows: Trigger on payment received โ†’ Increase balance
  4. Usage: Forms or buttons decrement the balance

A note on pricing

  • The Cost: $10 USD per 1,000 credits
  • The Rules: Credits reset monthly. They do not roll over. Use it or lose it.
  • The Strategy: It's cheaper to buy a recurring pack than to rely on ad-hoc overages if your volume is consistent.
